The TRANSitions In Energy For Coastal Communities Over Time And Space (TRANSECTS)project is a pioneering research initiative dedicated to exploring and communicating the impact of offshore wind, wave, and tidal energy transitions on coastal communities. Led by Heriot-Watt University in collaboration with five universities and twelve industry and government stakeholders, TRANSECTS aims to leverage lessons from the oil and gas sectors to drive sustainable energy transformation. The project primarily serves coastal communities in Orkney, East Scotland, and Humber, with a broader impact across UK coastal regions.

Brand Identity and Brand Guidelines
Creating a distinct and meaningful project logo was crucial for TRANSECTS to establish visual recognition. The logo needed to convey innovation, sustainability, and community engagement, ensuring alignment with the UK Coastal Resilience initiative while resonating with stakeholders across academia, government, and industry.

The team at Arttia Creative designed a logo that worked in isolation while also complementing the UK Coastal Resilience brand.
We developed a cohesive colour palette and visual identity system and created brand guidelines to maintain consistency across the website, presentations, and outreach materials.
Website Design and Development
We developed a modern, intuitive, responsive website as a knowledge hub for coastal energy transitions. Using a CMS-based platform, we ensured that the TRANSECTS team could effortlessly manage content updates, keeping information current and accessible. Additionally, we implemented foundational SEO strategies to enhance the website's visibility and accessibility, ensuring that key stakeholders and the public can easily find and engage with the project's research and initiatives.

Print Materials
To support the website and the research events, we designed freestanding banners that can be placed at events and talks to highlight the project's work and the community. We incorporated a QR code that directs to the project website.
