6 Ideas to Help Promote Your New eBook

It's been a labour of love, your book is completed and available for sale.

Great. But how are you going to let people know it's there amongst the many other thousands of ebooks. It seems like everyone is writing their own books these days, so how do you get yours noticed above all of the others?

Here are a few ideas that could help to promote your new ebook, and hopefully drive some sales!

1. WELL DESIGNED LANDING PAGE ON YOUR OWN WEBSITE OR BLOG.

Create a dramatic page on your website which headlines your books features. Bullet point 'what's in the book'. Add a review quote, prominent on the page. If possible add a video interview of you the author or a short video from a reader who can talk about the books benefits. Don't forget a big 'BUY NOW' button to either by from your site or via Amazon. Add social media sharing buttons to your page, so visitors can pass on the link, link to additional relevant blog posts.

2. JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER.

Everyone gets drawn into browsing a book if the cover is eye-catching and enticing. Invest in a really well-designed cover that conveys the essence of your books content in a cleaver and enticing way. Use this cover image on all of your Ebook marketing activity. Show it large on your website landing page, feature it on your blog posts and on social media.

3. KEYWORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOUR BOOKS CONTENT.

You must add some SEO. Add relevant words and phrases to your bookstore page information, optimise your ebook description, ensure it is keyword rich, but not over optimised. Choose keywords that really reflect what the book is about. Use words and phrases that your customers are likely to use when searching for your topic. A perfect way to spread the word. Provide short excerpts that link back to your landing page or directly to the store. 5. OFFER A TASTER OR INITIAL FREE DOWNLOAD.

Why not offer a chapter for free. Set up a sign up form on your landing page so visitors can sign up to download a taster chapter. Add a reader quote next to the sign up box to endorse the offer. This taster chapter should have a link to buy the full book.

Or boost the launch with a short period offering a free download via Amazon. If you get enough reviews or downloads you could be a featured publication on Amazon.

6. FEATURE THE AUTHOR - BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND

Build your personal bran. Showcase you as the author, write a short synopsis of your inspiration to write the book. Offer insight into your background and expertise. Show a profile photograph, ideally professionally taken. Perhaps offer a video Q and A session, via Google Hangouts, giving you the opportunity to chat directly to your audience. Show the person behind the book. People love to read about authors and their stories. Showcase your authority and expertise.
