The event started with the Opening Remarks, a warm welcome to everyone that was attending and an introduction about what to expect for the main two days of the event. The pre-event day is called Contributor Day where volunteers can answer your WordPress questions. I usually attend the main two days and haven't yet made it to the Contributor Day.

Also, someone, I have met online, it was great to meet her in person. Picca Neri talked about design and User Interfaces from Gestalt principles. From my long-standing design background, I found the talk thoughtful and highlighted many of the principles I follow for my website design projects.

Day one was long and inspiring, so I didn't attend the Saturday night social and wanted to catch up with my family in  London who I probably haven't seen since WordCamp 2017. An excellent fresh start for day two started with a panel discussion – Applying Design To Complex Problems with Richard Copping, Melanie Machan, Sarah Semark, Gabe Karp. Then over to Track C for 1:1 with customers – a troubled approach, with a happy end by Stef Mattana

After lunch on day two, the next key talk for me was from Nemanja Aleksi, build relationships, not websites. This was great emphasis on developing a partnership with a client to deliver more than a website, providing support, additional creative services and digital insight.

After the conference, a short wait in the stunning Kings Cross station. Following refurbishment in 2012. The steel structure of the roof has been described as being "like some kind of reverse waterfall, a white steel grid that swoops up from the ground and cascades over your head. A pleasant environment to watch the world go by whilst waiting for the train home. Also the home to Platform 9 3/4, made famous by Harry Potter.
